Check black levels, white levels, grayscale separation, shadow detail, highlight detail, and general display contrast using fullscreen visual reference patterns.

Look for separation between the darkest boxes. The first few levels should be subtle but not all merge into one black area.

but it cannot directly measure your monitor's hardware contrast
ratio. Accurate contrast-ratio measurement requires dedicated
display-measurement equipment. Browser color management, HDR,
brightness settings, ambient lighting, and viewing angle can
affect what you see.
